Description
In this work, shot in location in Istanbul, investigates the look on people passing by on the opposite escalator as a visual consumption of faces. The installation wants to be a comparison between a consumption of medial faces from the Turkish music channel “Kral TV” and real faces recorded at metro station “Taxim”. As a linking point between those two elements, 18 to 21 years old teenagers from different areas of Istanbul express themselves about the influence of visual media in their perception of reality. An example: the 18 years old Alyze sustained that “when I look at people on an escalator I don`t see them as their humans but as heads put on shoulders”.
